Our ORIGIN

Our Beginning: A Vision Born in Lagos

Magic Stars FC was born out of a passion to develop football talent and raise a new generation of stars who can compete on both domestic and international stages. In 2021, the club was officially registered and affiliated with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) through the Lagos State Football Association

At international youth football level, in March 2025, Magic Stars made its debut in the 75th edition of the Viareggio Youth Tournament in Italy alongside three other NLO teams, Ojodu City, Mavlon FC and Ijele FC.

Viareggio Cup, also known as Coppa Carnevale is held annually during the Carnival of Viareggio in Italy.

The Lagos Magicians were drawn into Group C featuring Casarano FC U19 (Italy), APIA Leichhardt FC U19 (Sydney, Australia) and Sassuolo FC U19 (Italy).

Magic Stars won all its group matches, beating Casarano FC U19 2-1, APIA Leichhardt FC U19 4-0, and Sassuolo FC U19 3-0. The team also thrashed VIS Pesaro of Italy 5-0 in the Round of 16 and lost by a lone goal to Genoa U19 in the quarter-final.

In just a short time, Magic Stars FC established itself as a force in Nigerian football. The club’s journey through the Nationwide League One (NLO) was nothing short of magical:

  • October 2022: President Mr. Agboola was among five NLO club presidents selected for an exclusive 8-day football business tour to England, organized by NVA Sports & Entertainment Group, meeting top UK football stakeholders and exploring affiliations.

  • March 2024: Magic Stars hosted the Magic Scouting Tournament at Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos — a talent hunt featuring 8 teams, facilitated by Mathew Olorunleke, a Nigerian-born coach based in Italy.

  • Mid-2024: The club earned promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) after a thrilling playoff victory over Ojodu City, winning 5-3 on penalties at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

  • 2024–2025: Magic Stars went unbeaten in 18 consecutive league matches, securing 15 wins and 3 draws — an extraordinary run that firmly established the club’s dominance at this level.
